Rachel grew up in the DC area of Rockville, Maryland. She attended the University of Rochester in upstate New York, where she earned her B.S. in Biology: Ecology and Evolution. She then moved to the magical city of New Orleans where she earned her teaching credential and taught high school mathematics. After two years of teaching math, Rachel got a job teaching circus arts to K-8th graders. Rachel picked up juggling while in college, where she fell in love with the circus culture and community. She moved to the Bay Area to attend Circus School at the Circus Center in SF and continue her career in education.
Rachel believes in the power, creativity, and uniqueness of every student. She believes every student is capable of taking ownership of their own success. Rachel loves combining her interests in academics and STEM with her passion for movement and circus while teaching and coaching.
When Rachel is not teaching, coaching, or clowning around with kids, she enjoys Capoeira, being outside, and surrounded by good friends.
